Wisbech school "deeply saddened" following death of staff member
A Wisbech school has paid tribute to a staff member who sadly died yesterday (Wednesday).
A spokesperson for Nene and Ramnoth School said the woman, who had not long been appointed, would be remembered with "great affection" by the school community.
They added that support was being provided to staff and pupils to help them process the incident which happened around lunchtime and saw emergency services attend the school's Nene and Little Owls Nursery site in Norwich Road, including police, paramedics and an air ambulance.
The spokesperson said it would be wrong to name the staff member out of respect for her family as they are still be contacted.
In a statement issued this afternoon the spokesperson said:“We are deeply saddened that a much-loved member of staff at Nene and Ramnoth School died on 11th May 2022.
"It is not appropriate to report this staff member’s name at this point out of respect to the family who are still being contacted.
"The staff member had recently been appointed to the school and will be remembered with great affection by our school community. We are providing support for our staff and pupils to help them through this, and our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with the family at this desperately sad time.”
More information will follow in due course.
