Cambridgeshire youngsters asked to get creative thanks to supermarket giant Aldi

Young artists are being invited to show off their creative flair for a chance to see their work featured on a real-life billboard.

Youngsters have the opportunity to put their skills to the test thanks to a new competition from supermarket giant Aldi, which has branches in Wisbech, Chatteris, Whittlesey and March.

As part of its award-winning Get Set to Eat Fresh programme, developed in partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, Aldi is challenging children aged five to 14 to design a billboard that encourages healthy, positive food choices.

The initiative is aimed at inspiring young minds to think creatively about nutrition and well-being while celebrating the supermarket’s 10-year commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles.

The competition is open to all schools and children across Cambridgeshire, with three national winners to be selected by a panel made up of Aldi colleagues and representatives from Team GB and ParalympicsGB.

Each winner will have their artwork displayed on a billboard in their local area, receive a £100 Aldi voucher, earn their school £1,000 to spend on educational or wellness-related initiatives and get a special visit from a Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete

Kyrsten Halley, marketing director at Aldi, said: “Aldi is passionate about helping young people learn more about food and the importance of making healthy choices.

“This competition is a brilliant way to combine creativity with education, and we can’t wait to see the inspiring designs children come up with.”

The campaign, which blends art, education, and community spirit, continues Aldi’s ongoing effort to support healthier futures through fun and engaging experiences for young people.

Parents and teachers can download the official entry template from the Get Set to Eat Fresh website.

Completed designs should be submitted via email to: info@getseteatfresh.co.uk, and must include the student’s name, age, and school.

The deadline for entries is Friday, June 20.
