Way out in front with 147 points is champion-elect Andrew Kilby, who added win in Sunday Club match at Main Road

The battle for runners-up spot in the Tydd Gote Angling Club winter league is hotting up and with just five matches to go it’s all to fish for, with Pete Emery on 100 points, Dave Simmonds 98, Steve Borrett 83 and Archie Greenwood on 78.

But way out in front with a massive 147 points is the champion-elect Andrew Kilby (pictured), who consolidated his position with another impressive win in the Sunday Club match at Main Road, taking a level 9lb of roach and rudd at 11m from end peg.

Darren Williams continued his fine run of form with 5lb for second spot, catching on pinkie over ground bait, just edging Dave Simmonds on 4lb 14oz who, after a fast start, was hampered by ice re-freezing in his peg.
