March Bears Women XV lose to Bury in first ever competitive game
The March Bears Women XV went down to a 36-7 loss against Bury Women's XV in their first ever game.
They travelled to Bury St Edmunds to take on a much more experienced and well drilled side under the lights.
They more than acquitted themselves in the match , with the score not accurately reflecting the actual play.
Although they lost, on several occassions they were held up over the line - much to their frustration.
Eventually, Marta Green did manage to get over the line to score the Bears Womens XV’s first every competitive try.
The side were very proud of their achievments this season, starting from complete scratch at the start of the campaign and coming up to this level very quickly.
The club are looking for further enthusiastic players in the 18+ age group to start training - as well as taking on further competitive fixtures. Experience is not essential, but enthusiasm is - and itis what the group needs.
