Chatteris CC defeat CCA Senior League Div 2 victory visitors Newport at Fullers Cricket Ground

Chatteris CC enjoyed a comfortable CCA Senior League Division 2 victory over visitors Newport.

Chatteris won the toss and elected to field at Fullers Cricket Ground.

Fourth-placed Newport struggled to 93 all out in 38.3 overs.

Chatteris knocked off the runs at 94-2 from just 16.5 overs needed.

Chatteris keep some pressure on title favourites City of Ely who are 23 points ahead.

Chatteris 2nds lost at CCA Junior League 2 North leaders Bottisham-Lode by 92 runs.

Bottisham-Lode compiled 239-9 in 40 overs with Stuart Porter 2-45 and Oliver Tilbrook 2-31 both taking two wickets.

Jack Saunders and George Alexander grabbed a wicket apiece.

Oli Bailey added three run-outs.

Chatteris could not keep up with the required rate and closed on 147-6 with opener Ben Perry hitting 53.

Chatteris 2nds are second from bottom.

Next Saturday Chatteris travel to Hardwick & Caldecote while the second team entertain Over.
