March Boxing Club's return marked by brilliant fights and frustrating crowd trouble as police called
Boxing returned to March on what was a dramatic night in and out of the ring.
A variety of fighters were in action as March Boxing Club got back up and running last Friday. Competitors arrived at the Braza Club from as far away as Corby for the event, with eight bouts taking place.
Harry Warden was involved in what was the most impressive victory on the evening as he successfully stopped Joseph Nixon on his debut.
James Moore emerged victorious after his tussle with Michael Hassell, while Callum Fitzpatrick managed to beat Khi Cleggett. Harley Burrow defeated Sahewa Mazengo, and Josh Moulding bested Samuel St Julien.
However, what was turning out to be an excellent evening was tarnished by an apparent fight outside of the Elm Road venue. Police were called to the incident, which is believed to have had more than 100 people involved. The boxing was cut short halfway through the event.
March Boxing Club chairman Frank Allen said: "It is very disappointing, these young lads have been working hard, training all year and to then be unable to have their time in the ring.
"It is such a shame that this behaviour has spoilt a good evening for the boxers, the sponsors and the spectators. We have no control over this kind of incident, which is totally unacceptable."
