Wisbech come from behind again to share spoils with Deeping Rangers in UCL Premier Division North
A few choice half-time words from manager Alex Street did the trick as Wisbech Town came from behind to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games on Easter Monday.
The Fenmen conceded after just 20 seconds after a goal by former Fenman Matt Sparrow but equalised in the 79th minute when Ethan Wilson floated the ball into the box from a free-kick for Max Mattless to head home.
Wisbech have now picked up five draws and a win from their last six games in the UCL Premier Division North and Street said: "That's credit to the lads to be honest.
"They're fighting and trying to find ways to get back into games.
"The last three or four matches we've started really slowly and we've conceded one of the poorest goals we've given away this season in the first minute.
"When you come away you can't do that as it gives the opposition something to hold onto. They've had a bit of a blast at half-time and we've changed formation.
"They had a good chance to make it 2-0 but we've actually created some good chances in the second half. We deserved a draw but we probably could have won it and both parties will be happy with a point.
"I don't think these lads are a million miles away. We've played teams like these, for instance, who are going to be in and around the play-offs and we've also played Skegness and Melton who are in the play-offs and we've found a way to get a result against them.
"A couple of additions and a bit of know-how and this squad won't be far away."
Wisbech are at home to third-place Loughborough Students on Saturday before ending their league campaign with a trip to Heanor Town next weekend.
"We've got two league games left and a cup final and the players will be fighting for their shirts to play in that game," said Street.
"We want to win that game and end the season with some silverware but first of all I want to end the season by going nine games unbeaten in the league.
"After that, we will try to get a result against Cambridge City in the cup final which will be a very tough game for us.
"We'll keep ticking away. Three weeks in a row now the players have dug deep and found a way to get draws."
