Two goals from striker Toby Allen helped ease the Fenmen into the semi-finals of the county cup last night in a game where they had trailed 1-0 at the break.
Wisbech struggled against the strong wind in the first half at Fountain Fresh Park and were behind to a deflected goal in the 43rd minute.
However, with the wind behind them after the break, it was a different story and they equalised against the Cambs County League Premier Division outfit within seconds of the restart when Allen rocketed one into the roof of the net.
Four minutes later it was 2-1 when Joe Reed’s free-kick was saved and Amir Ward crossed the rebound for Oli Williams to head home.
The third came after 73 minutes through Andre Williams’ calm finish and the scoring was wrapped up when Allen netted his second from the penalty spot and his 20th of a productive season three minutes later after Ethan Wilson was brought down in the box.
