Holiday postponed for Marshland St James final
Buttonhole Lake finals qualifier Pawel Nycz has rearranged a family holiday so he can take part in the Marshland St James event.
Nycz finished second in the latest qualifier, but went through as winner John Bishop, with a haul of 98lbs 11oz from peg 23, had qualified earlier in the year.
Not expecting to qualify, Nycz had arranged a family holiday abroad – but his wife has rearranged it so he can now fish for the £5,000 payout.
• Any angler wishing to book in to a Tuesday night match can do so. They take place from 5.45pm until 9.15pm and are quite unique as the lake is floodlit.
• The Tydd Gote AC Sunday match at Main Road was fished in mostly overcast conditions with a brisk upstream wind offering the chance of bream for those pegged in the higher number hot spots.
John Taylor was on peg 33 and just took the win with a bream and silvers all on the 6m line for a 9lb total that edged Colin Burton’s two bream haul for 8lb 6oz from peg 35.
Dave Simmonds, on peg 30, found a good tench with some bits for 4lb 11oz and third place.
Steve Fox on peg 34, and Andrew Kilby on 20, shared fourth, both with 4lb 4oz, Steve taking a solitary bream and Andrew a net of silvers.
