Home draws for March Town in FA Cup and Vase

March Town, who are in friendly action at Mildenhall Town on Friday evening, have found out their opponents in this year’s FA competitions.

The Hares have been drawn at home to Sheringham in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on August 6, with the winners away to Kirkley and Pakefield or Fakenham in the Preliminary Round on August 20.

In the FA Vase, March are at home to Huntingdon Town on August 27, while the FA Youth Cup sees the Hares youngsters drawn away to Dunstable Town - the match to be played the week commencing August 15.

On the news that defender Dean Miller has left to join Parson Drove as player/assistant manager, boss Ashley Taylor said: “Dean’s been offered an opportunity that was hard for him to turn down with his aspirations of going into management.

“I would like to thank Dean for all of his efforts. He was tremendous last season and was a big personality within the dressing room.

“I wish him the very best at Parson Drove.”

Last Tuesday, March won 3-2 at Thetford Town in a friendly, with goals coming from Sam Murphy, Craig Gillies and Luie Cowie.
