March Golf Club ladies compete in Mary Cole Rose Bowl

The annual Cambs and Hunts Womens’ Mary Cole Rose Bowl was held at Gog Magog Golf Club last week.

March Golf Club ladies section fielded a great team, with three of their ladies having handicaps below 25.4.

The overall competition was won by the St Ives team, but the March ladies came in a respectable 4th out of 15 teams, just 10 shots behind the winners.

Emma Athow, Gail Arnold and Gail Johnson made up the team, with welcome support from their caddies Jean McAuliffe, Viv Snushall and Shona Kent.

Lady captain Jean McAuliffe said, “We were really pleased with the overall result, as we were up against strong competition from bigger clubs than March”.

“The March ladies section is very friendly, but also competitive when we need to be. If anyone is thinking about starting or coming back to golf, they would be very welcome at March, just contact our secretary for more information”.
