Wisbech Tennis Club Ladies' and Men's teams fought hard in their weekend matches against Longthorpe and Castor
Wisbech Ladies 'A' Team stormed up to second place in the Hunts and Peterborough League after a 5-3 win at Longthorpe 'C'.
Jacqui West and Laura Overland slipped to a 6-3 loss in their opening set, but battled back to win by the same scoreline in their second.
They then romped to a 6-0, 6-2 victory in their second match.
Jane Page and Sheila Hennessy won 7-6, 6-2 in their opener before losing 2-6, 6-7 later in the day.
The 5-2 team win propelled the ladies into second spot in the league table.
Elsewhere, the Men's 'A' Team travelled to Castor and lost 7-1 to a strong opposition team.
Lister and Hadleigh Osbourn narrowly fell to 4-6 and 5-7 reverses in their early match-ups, but were soundly beaten 0-6,0-6 in their second tie.
Jay Cooper and Roger Frusher lost 2-6, 1-6 in their opener, but got a point on the board later in the day with a 6-3, 3-6 game.
