Three Counties Running Club members participate in Wissey Festival of Running at Oxborough
Three Counties Running Club members participated in a new event hosted by Ryston Runners AC.
The Wissey Festival of running consisted of a five-mile and a ten-mile race.
The festival started at Oxborough and both race distances were run on the road surface and what the organisers called a fast, flat course with personal best potential.
Some of the runners may have disagreed with that by saying there was definite undulation and with it being a hot day and no shelter from the sun, it made for a tough race.
The five-mile race was first and running for TCRC were Lauren Day and Melvin Green.
There were 76 participants and Day finished in 29th position, sixth female in a PB time of 40:11.
To top it off, she was first in her age category winning the trophy for F35-39.
Green had a fantastic run finishing in 58th position in a great time of 50:50.
The 10-mile race had four TCRC members taking part, all bagging PBs.
First home for the club was Sarah Johnson, finishing 45th/100 in a time of 1:22:24, Claire Smithee 64th in a time of 1:27:49, Daniel High 1:38:34PB and Diane Tyler 1:49:22.
