James Licquorice in great form at Unlimited Bangers event in King's Lynn
James Licquorice was in great form in the Unlimited Bangers at King’s Lynn on Saturday, where he ended up as the top entertainer point scorer.
And he also came within a whisker of winning the Destruction Derby, with his car only just expiring before Boston’s Harry Gelsthorpe.
James did pick up his second Entertainer Award of the night in that event, however, which has seen him pile on the points as he holds a massive lead of over 100 points in the Unlimited Banger World of Shale Entertainer standings.
Licquorice also recorded the best finish of any local driver with a third place finish in the opening heat before he went on his wrecking spree.
Meanwhile, Andrew Parrin made his first appearance on track for several years and will be pleased with his pace.
Jay Chilton was also a returnee after a long lay-off, and he showed he had lost none of his on-track prowess.
Joe Geeves only lasted one race as his Rover P5 was obliterated by Norwich’s Lee White, and Lee Barnes was in the action throughout the evening.
Brad Bartram put in some solid performances in the Unlimiteds, but he reserved his best performances for the 2L Bangers - where he started the night with a solid sixth-place finish before putting in a great performance at the end of the night to take the chequered flag.
Licquorice was also on double duty and picked up some more entertainer points in the 2L Banger, while running mate Jack Maryon had a great runner-up finish in the second heat.
Lincoln Douglas picked up his first trophy in the Junior Bangers with a great runner-up finish in his heat, and he was also the first local finisher in the final.
Levi Murkin and Rhys Parrin were also amongst the points scoring places throughout the afternoon.
