LEARN MORESamurai Karate School, Wisbech, held its annual OSKA UK association training course.
The course was free to attend for all OSKA members and taught by Samurai’s highly experienced coaching team. The successful event was held at Thomas Clarkson Academy Dojo and was attended by more than 100 students of all grades and ages.
The coaching team of Sensei Andy Watson 4th Dan, Sensei Carl Douch 3rd Dan, Sensei Glen Mason 3rd Dan and Senpai Celine Holliday 2nd Dan, delivered sessions. They were supported by 16 year-old Senpais Harry Murrell 2nd Dan and Euan Shaw 2nd Dan. Both these lads have been training with Samurai since age 5.
The session taught covered Kata and applications, kicking technique development, self defence and combat strategy, and Kihon combinations.
Sensei Steve King said: “I am so proud of the team that we have teaching at Samurai. It is by far the best and most qualified group of Dan grades that we have had in our 20 years. Likewise the students are equally amazing.
“It has been a very busy start to 2020 with this course together with students attending Karate England squad training, our own Squad development programme being introduced, and a visit to our Dojo by karate legend Sensei Dave Hazard. We are now having classes available six days a week in the local area.”
