Wisbech Wheelers' members mourn the loss of one of their star members

More news, no ads

In sad news, Wisbech Wheelers lost one of their stalwart members to leukaemia on Sunday.

Kevin Hallahan has featured in a number of cycling reports over the years for his impressive performances, and played a huge role in local events.

He helped with everything from laying road signs to timekeeping and officiating.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Denese, who is also a prolific rider with the cycling club.

Everyone at Wisbech Wheelers has offered their heartfelt sympathies to Denese, who will miss Kevin's presence more than anybody.

Elsewhere, Wisbech cycling members continued to impress with their latest exploits.

Mat McClure (pictured) was on top form with his most recent race, improving on his own club record at a new course on the A11.

Despite being tired after a weekend triathlon, he managed to sprint to a time of 32:16 last Wednesday evening.

McClure was taking part in the CC Breckland 15-mile event.

70+ supervet Roger Sewell also took part in the same competition, and achieved a very respectable time of 37:14.

That went along with his 1:04:16 time in the 25-mile Witham Wheelers promotion near Sleaford in the previous week.

Sewell had to battle rough roads and heavy vibrations, but he powered through on his TT machine.
