Win for March, defeat for Parson Drove, Wisbech in action tomorrow and no game for Wisbech St Mary
March Town finally kick started their season with a first win this afternoon (Saturday), but Parson Drove were defeated at home and there was no action for Wisbech Town or Wisbech St Mary.
The newly-promoted Hares had started the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division with five straight defeats, but got their first points on the board with a 2-0 home victory against mid-table Whitton United.
Jack Friend opened the scoring in the third minute for interim boss Ash Taylor's side and strike partner Craig Gillies netted the second in the 70th.
In the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Division One North, it's now five defeats in seven for Parson Drove, also newly promoted, after a 3-0 home defeat against third placed Huntingdon Town.
Jay Chilvers scored in the third and 42nd minute for the unbeaten visitors, with substitute Andrew Cook rounding things off in the 90th. Drove played must of the match with 10 men after Karl Anderson was dismissed early on – their third red card so far this season. Joint manager Robbie Harris' reaction here.
Wisbech Town are in action tomorrow when they visit Baldock Town in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, and Wisbech St Mary next play on Tuesday, when they visit Peterborough North End in theThurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Division One North.
On the same night, March Town entertain bottom of the table Swaffham Town in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division.
Wisbech Town are at Cambridge City in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division on Wednesday night.
