There was a shock result in our featured match this week as Tydd lost the all Division One match 4-1 at Pinchbeck United Reserves in the ChromaSport Peterborough & District League Cup.

Dale Parnell's 11th goal of the season in 10 games was not enough to stop fourth place Tydd from losing this Group A match to the second from bottom Knights.

Wittering led at half time against the run of play but Wisbech equalised early in the second half when Ajay Jolly's free kick picked out Martin Chapman who rounded the keeper and equalised.

The home side took the lead again, but once again the Fenmen replied, this time a 40-yard Jolly free kick making it 2-2. It looked like the game would be drawn, but Wittering scored a late winner when a wind-assisted cross was turned in.

Manager Jonny Pearce said: “It’s another hard fought battling display against higher opposition and I can’t praise the young lads enough for going toe to toe again, but they must keep going for the 90 minutes as the last two weeks now we have lost to late goals and that is painful."
