Welcher decides annual T20 game and barbecue
The annual T20 game and barbecue was held at the March Town Cricket Club on Friday night.
The March Crows played the Dave Softley XI.
March batted first and scored 153 for 7. Top scorers were Ben Pyle 43 (retired) and former Aussie overseas player Peter Hills 43 (retired).
Ashley Spendlow took 2 for 25 and Jim Welcher 2 for 30.
In reply the visitors collapsed to 42 for 5 before a stand of 101 between Carl Chapman (54) and Nigel Wright (47) took them almost home.
Jim Welcher bowled the first ball of the match and then stole a single off the last ball of the final over to give the visitors victory.
Sam Mason 3 for 14 and Alex Oldham 2 for 27 bowled well for the home side.
