Striker Rob Conyard leaves Wisbech Town
Striker Rob Conyard has left Wisbech Town, with manager Alex Street saying he is now on the lookout for another forward player.
Former March Town player Conyard scored seven goals in 25 games for the Fenmen in a season blighted by injuries, with many of those appearances coming from the bench. Last season he played 20 games, netting on 10 occasions.
On the X social media platform, Conyard said: “A hard decision having to move on from Wisbech, a great club with some top people and supporters.
“Thank you to the chairman and everyone at the club for my time there, all the best to the boys for the rest of the season. Time for a new challenge.”
Street said: “Rob has had some injuries and just not been able to get up to his best level. I wish him all the best wherever he goes and I hope he can kickstart his career there. He is a good lad and it just didn’t work out for him here.
“I will be looking for another striker now, either to challenge Toby Allen or work off him, but there’s no rush to do that.”
