March Marlins swimmer Harry Smith bags five gold medals at Stowmarket in Sprint into Spring Open Meet 2020

March Marlins Swimmers travelled to Stowmarket for the Sprint into Spring Open Meet 2020.

A haul of medals was collected – numbering 18 gold, 13 silver and six bronze.

First up, Harry Smith took home five gold accolades from races including the 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke, both in which he also gained personal best times.

Smith’s silver medal came from his 50m butterfly race and two bronze awards from the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke events.

Brother, Sam Smith, brought home seven medals in total – six silver and a bronze from various races such as the 200m individual medley and the 200m backstroke.

Sam’s 200m freestyle race earned him a personal best time along with the silver.

Chloe Cook gave a phenomenal performance, achieving gold medals in all her six races.

Cook swam all the breaststroke races, taking a personal best in the 100m, plus another best time in the 200m butterfly.

Georgia Ambrose added to the gold collection with three medals in both the 50m and 100m backstroke as well as the 50m freestyle.

Harry Rayner also medalled in all his races, taking two gold for the 200m butterfly and the 400m individual medley.

Rayner went on to collect four silver medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events and the 50m and 100m butterfly races. He also added a bronze medal to his haul from the 50m breaststroke.

Jacob Cowin claimed a gold in his 400m individual medley race, two silvers in the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly, plus a bronze in the 100m backstroke.

Hannah Jordan completed the medal set with a gold in the 200m freestyle.
