Wisbech Tennis Club enjoy Norfolk away days

Wisbech Tennis Club had a double win last week in the North West Norfolk League.

The Men’s Team of Jay Cooper, Stuart Jupp, Roger Frusher and Hadleigh Osborn were in action away at Burnham Market and had a convincing 6-2 win.

In their first matches, Jay and Roger got off to a cracking start with a 6-2, 7-5 win against the opposition’s first pairing.

Stuart and Hadleigh won their first set 6-3 then stormed to a 6-1 win in the second set.

In the second matches, Jay and Roger won convincingly 6-0, 6-1 and Stuart and Hadleigh scored 1-6, 4-6.

The Ladies A Team also had a fantastic 5-3 win, away in Division Two in the North West Norfolk League, at Dersingham on Monday last week.

Wendy Cropp and Jane Page won convincingly 6-4, 6-3 in their first match then clinched the second match 6-2, 6-1. Sheila Hennessy and Jacqui West were even in the first match with a set apiece, narrowly losing a tie break in the third set to score 4-6, 6-4, 6-7, 3-6.
