Ten-goal thriller

Upwell were awarded their Cambs League match this week against Earith after the opposition failed to raise a team.

Upwell Reserves were involved in a high scoring draw with Coldham, finishing up 5-5.

The reserves only used Matt Thomas from the first team and gave a fantastic account of themselves.

Upwell goals: Aaron Marshall 3, Dan Hempson and Wesley Irons. Wayne Whittaker’s game was cut short through injury.

Benwick Athletic Res 1, March Rangers Res 5

In League 5C, there was a game of two halves. Benwick hit the bar, post, had a shot cleared off the line and a goal disallowed but only went in 1-1 at half-time. John Rose was at the back post to score a well-worked goal. Rangers really upped their game in the second half to win 5-1.
