March, Chatteris and Wimblington top their tables after opening three games
March are sitting pretty at the top of Cambs & Hunts Division Three after winning their opening three fixtures of the 2025 season.
Along with Barnack and Cambourne, March have a 100% record after easing to victory at home to LGR on Saturday.
Their 112-run victory was helped by half-centuries from Sam Robinson and acting captain Toby Nulty, with Robinson also taking the final three visiting wickets to seal the win.
After being put into bat, Jacob Gray and wicket keeper Mark Estall put on 25 for the first wicket before Estall was clean bowled for 14. Gray went six overs later, also bowled for 14, leaving the score at 51-2.
But then came a match-winning third-wicket partnership of 130 from Robinson and Nulty. Robinson’s 64 came off 97 balls, with six fours, and Nulty’s 65 came from 87 balls, also with six fours.
Nulty was bowled, leaving the score at 183-3 after 40.2 overs, and Robinson was caught off the next ball, making it 183-4.
With Benjamin Pyle and Samuel Clarke dismissed cheaply, March were 191-6 from 41.5 overs before Lewis Welcher and Shae Pooley put on 35 in the last three overs to take the final score to 226-6 from 45 overs. Welcher scored 14 from 12 balls and Pooley 20 from nine, with three fours.
In reply, the visitors never looked like mounting a serious threat. They were soon reduced to 51-3 off 8.5 overs, and when the next three wickets went for just a solitary run, they were in big trouble at 52-6, Clarke (3-58 from nine) and Pooley sharing the haul with three dismissals each.
There was a bit of resistance for the next two wickets, but when Pooley struck to end with figures of 4-21 from nine overs, it was 79-7. Robinson then cleaned up the tail to claim figures of 3-18 from 3.2 overs as LGR finished 114 all out from 24.2 overs.

But, needing 51 to win from nine overs, Wisbech’s tail failed to wag, and they lost another run-out wicket as they posted a total of 195 all out from 47.5 overs.
