Wednesday Open at Main Road sees Sammy McSpadden take honours with 6lb 10oz of roach

The torrential rain didn’t deter many for last Sunday’s Tydd Gote Angling Club match at Main Road.

Andrew Kilby exploited the conditions to excellent effect, drawn by the bridge, the same peg he won from last weekend. He made the most of some coloured water from an inlet pipe to catch steadily at 6 metres on pinkie over squatt and groundbait to take another win with 9lb 11oz of roach.

Archie Greenwood, at the other end peg, found 7lb 13oz of good roach on pinkie for second.

Meanwhile, Steve Borrett was third with 4lb 6oz.

At the Wednesday Open at Main Road, Sammy McSpadden (pictured) took the honours with a hard-earned 6lb 10oz of roach, pushing that man Greenwood into second again, this time with 6lb 2oz of roach on his favoured pole and pinkie approach.

Then came Darren Williams with his 4lb 5oz.
