Hempson treble as Parson Drove hit five




Leverington Sports have now lost two games out of two in this season's Peterborough League Premier Division.

Sports went down to a 2-0 defeat at newly-promoted Crowland Town on Saturday but there was better news for the district's other Premier Division sides.

Parson Drove are fifth in the fledgling table after beating Ketton 5-0 at home. James Tricks opened the scoring after five minutes and Luke Gardner made it two after ten minutes.The scoreline remained that way until 60th minute substitute Dan Hempson grabbed himself a 15 minute hat-trick.

There was also victory for Long Sutton, who beat Cardea 3-0 at London Road, with goals from Brendon Burton (2) and Jake Clitheroe. In Division One Tydd lost 3-1 at home to FC Peterborough, Bradley Easey scoring from a penalty but having another spot kick saved. In Division Two, Wisbech Town Reserves beat Netherton United Reserves 2-0 at home and Long Sutton Athletic Reserves went down 1-0 at Orton Rangers.

Leverington Sports lost 1-0 at home to Weldon United in Division Three, where there was also defeat for Tydd Reserves, beaten 5-0 at Stilton United Reserves. Long Sutton Athletic A got a 2-2 draw at Uppingham Reserves in Division Four, with Karl Smith among the scorers.

Sutton Bridge made it two wins out of two in Division Five when they beat Ramsey Town Reserves 3-1, with goals from Patrick Jones, Kurt Scott and Joseph Sutton.

March Town United Reserves have won both Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Senior A games this season after a 2-1 home win against Cottenham United, goals coming from Josh Williams and Stef Cavozzi.

In Senior B, Wisbech St Mary Reserves lost 8-1 at home to league leaders Newmarket Town Reserves.

In Junior 1B there was a winning start to the season for Outwell Swifts, who won 2-0 at Hemingfords United Reserves, the goals coming from Luke Plumb and Chris Gunkel. In the same division, Chatteris Town went down to a 2-1 home defeat against Burwell Swifts.

In Junior 2B, March Town A thrashed Wisbech Acorns 6-1, Adam Mills netting four times and also goals for Finley Clark and Nick Streets. Wimblington, however, went down 6-1 at Exning United, Damon Shailes scoring. Chatteris Reserves were beaten 5-2 at Fordham Reserves, with Anton Kaval getting both Lilies goals. Wisbech St Mary A lost 2-1 at home to Guyhirn.

In 3C, Doddington United drew 3-3 at home to Little Downham & Pymoor Swifts Reserves, Alexander Hannibal-Stewart scoring twice and Joe Waters also on target. March Academy got a good 3-2 win at Manea United, Luke Cable, Adam Conyard and Ryan Powell on target for the visitors, while Wayne Bostock and Nathan Veglio netted for the hosts.

In 4C, Manea United Reserves lost 3-2 at Hemingfords United A, with Jake Keene and Harry Dean scoring. Benwick Athletic Reserves won 2-0 at Lakenheath Casuals Reserves, and an 80th minute goal from Josh Templeman saw Doddington United Reserves win 1-0 at March Academy Reserves.

Finally, Guyhirn United Reserves beat Ouwell Swifts Reserves 4-0 away, goals coming from Josh Bridge, Aaron Marshall, Harry Mulliner and James Turner.
