A weekend of stock car and banger racing action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena begins on Saturday night (5.30pm) with the Unlimited Bangers War of the Worlds six-a-side team championship.

Racing alongside are Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars in their Steve Newman Memorial, with the programme completed by Junior Bangers. Then on Sunday (1pm), the smaller 1300cc Stock Cars contest their own version of the Steve Newman Memorial, with action also provided by Micro Bangers and Lady Bangers.

The entry is headed by two squads from the very popular Sussex-based Bears outfit who are defending champions. Top local crashing team, the Predators, include Wisbech drivers Joel Allen and Ryan Leeks.

The fourth annual Steve Newman Memorial will remember the much-missed Lincolnshire racer who provided entertainment galore on track. This is a big event for his fellow competitors, and features a strong presence from the Wisbech area.

In the Two-Litre class, they include Three Holes brothers Ollie and Marcus Skeels. Having endured a torrid start to the season, the pair seem to have found their form recently after a drop to the yellow grade, winning four races between them at Mildenhall recently. Jacob Downey (Outwell) and Ivan Street (Somersham) will also be leading contenders.

Sunday’s 1300cc Stock Car entry includes veteran Wisbech quartet Lee Green, Buster Ketteringham, Ady Moden and Ady Wales who are all likely frontrunners. It also features the debut of Banger star Jack Licquorice.

Local interest among a very large field of Micro Bangers is provided by the likes of Brad and Ryan Bartrum, while former English Champion Wayne Cottrill Jr will be in action in the Junior Bangers.
