Hundreds of children and their families joined together at Chatteris Parish Church for a popular Christingle service. The Rev Wendy Thomson welcomed 400 children to the church on Sunday last week. Chatteris Scouts and Brownies, along with the church’s Sunday Club, were involved in the service. Members of the Chatteris Children’s Gospel choir also performed. The Rev Thomson said: “The service brings everyone together to sing and think about the true meaning of Christmas.”

A housing scheme has created 31 new affordable homes in March. Anne Brighton, managing director of housing association Circle Housing Roddons, opened the development of 29 two, three and four-bed houses and two bungalows in Grounds Avenue. Twenty-two homes are for affordable rent and nine are for shared ownership. She says: “We are proud of our partnership with Fenland District Council and Lovell as we build high-quality homes and communities that are great places to live.”
