Anniversaries of important milestones were marked as part of the annual Tydd St Giles parish church flower festival
Tydd St Giles parish church was filled with colourful displays for the annual flower festival at the weekend.
This year 's event included a number of displays dedicated to various anniversaries including the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, the 100th anniversary of some women being allowed to vote, and the 75th anniversary of the NHS and closer to home the 90th birthday of the village WI and the 25th anniversary of the opening of the village community centre.
There was also an aerial display depicting the 100th anniversary of the RAF which included planes.
A carpet display of 'in Flanders Field' celebrated the end of WW1 and included a poppy for each man who died during the conflict.
The suffragettes were celebrated with another carpet display created by children from Kinderley School using the colours of the votes for women movement.
Jane Melloy, who is one of the main organisers, said the event attracted a large number of visitors and raised £1,700 for the church restoration fund.
Jane said another of the major displays was the 'Harvest' one set up in the Lady Chapel, which used a variety of produce from the garden and allotments as well as pots of chutneys, jams and other home made goods.
The weekend also saw a garage sale on Saturday with over 30 households taking part.
