Book gives run down on March AC's 45 year history
In May 1976 a group of people passionate about running met at the Further Education Centre in March to see what interest there would be in starting an athletic club in town.
As a result March Athletic Club was born. Among those at the first meeting were Peter and Gena Jackman and Peter was elected as the very first chair.
Now 45 years on, Peter has published his collection of photos and news reports in one A4 colour volume.
This collection charts the various moves the club has had, the building of the running track at the current Elm Road site and the progress of runners at the London Marathon. It’s a chance to reminisce and remember all the great events Peter has been involved in with the club.
Peter, now aged 90, retired as chair 10 years ago, but still follows the progress of the club closely and both he and Gena are still members.
If you would like to purchase a copy of Peter’s book “Photos and Memories”, please contact him by email on georgina.jackman@sky.com to arrange payment and collection. The book costs £10.00 per copy.
