Wisbech charity bingo night to raise funds for carers and Cure CJD Campaign

A charity bingo night is being organised this Friday, November 4, at Wisbech St Mary Community Centre.

Funds for the event will be divided between the Cure CJD Campaign and for carers at the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre at North Cambs hospital in Wisbech, which is part of the Arthur Rank charity

Kealeigh Bostock, 28, is organsing the fundraiser in memory of her mother, Kay Brown, who died in August from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) at the age of 53.

Older brother Craig Brown, 30, has been collecting prizes for the evening, making the event a joint family effort.

Kealeigh said: “The charity bingo on Friday is in memory of my mum who died from CJD. We lost her in August. CJD is a rare disease that not many people have heard of.

“Half of the funds raised will go towards the Cure CJD Campaign and the other half to the ‘ARHC Hospice at Home Team Alan Hudson’ who cared for her at home. We are trying to raise some money to say thank you for what they did.”

Tickets are available on the door on the night, which opens at 6.30pm with eyes down at 7.30pm. There will also be a raffle and a tombola.

Kealeigh added: “My mum would be super proud we are doing something so positive.”
