Charity match and fun day to remember much-loved Wisbech man Riki Boughen
This weekend sees a charity football match being held in memory of a Wisbech man killed in a head-on collision last year.
Riki Boughen, 43, died after the collision on the A47 on January 17, 2018, now his family has organised a charity match and fun day in his memory for Brake, the road safety charity.
It will be held at Wisbech Town Football Club on Sunday from 12pm to 4pm and will include a bouncy castle, stalls, tombola and raffle.
The family have also been touched by a donation of £250 from Riki’s employer Tangent Plant Hire Ltd for the charity, which is dedicated to preventing road deaths and injuries and also provides support for people bereaved or injured on the roads.
Riki was a front seat passenger in the van driven by James Cox, 46, who was also killed, when it collided head-on with a coach on Constitution Hill in King’s Lynn.
His sister Rachel Rostron, who is organising Sunday’s event, described Riki as a “much loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and grandson, who was very popular and loved by many. Every room he walked into he lit up.
“With his cheeky character he was full of jokes always smiling, laughing, always had a tale to tell and loved his food.
“He would give anyone anything he had to give. He had the biggest heart.”
Entry on Sunday is free. For more information or to donate visit www.brake.org.uk
