Kinderley Primary School pupils raise £1,000 for school trip with sponsored walk and litter pick around Tydd St Giles
Pupils have been hard at work making sure their school and village is spick and span.
The children of Kinderley Primary School in Tydd St Giles celebrated the end of a busy term with a Mr Men-themed sponsored walk and litter pick around the site and rest of the village.
Usually, the event stays on the school field, however, some children had been picking up rubbish as part of Kinderley’s ongoing environmental campaign, so they decided to extend it further.
Led by Mr Bump and Mr Tickle, staff and students walked the circuit, cheered on by residents, raising £1,000 for a future outing.
The kids made a quick pit stop at the Community Centre for a drink before heading back to the school.
Head teacher Haidee Norman said: "It was a wonderful way to end the term.
“We are very proud of the children's efforts, although I must say Tydd St Giles is an exceptionally tidy village.
“We would like to thank everyone who donated.
“We raised around £1,000, which is going towards a very special school trip next term.
“It was lovely connecting with the village, and we will definitely make it an annual event."
