A manufacturer has promoted two team members and restructured its engineering team to support future business growth.

Stainless Metalcraft based in Chatteris, which manufactures a range of precision-engineered components for performance-critical industries, has promoted Will Clere to project engineering lead following completion of a management training course. He will assume responsibility for customer relationships.

Kelvin Sigsworth has also completed the Aspire leadership course and has now been promoted to technical engineering lead, directing Metalcraft’s team of talented engineers to deliver against a range of challenging briefs.

They will be supported by Simon Crosby, senior manufacturing engineer, and Shaun Smart, senior welding engineer, who also takes on some management responsibilities.

A very seasoned and well-regarded welding engineer, Shaun recently completed a doctorate and will assume direct responsibility for bringing on the next generation of welding engineers across the business.

Chris Duggan, managing director of Metalcraft, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Will, Kelvin, Simon and Shaun into their new roles, which is a reflection of the hard work and progress they have made over the last few months.

“We are committed to growing our own team here at Metalcraft, helping employees progress in their careers and supporting them through ongoing training and career development opportunities.

“The engineering team is by far the biggest department within the business and, as our business and the wider engineering sector evolves, it is crucial we have the right balance of skills and experience across our teams to support projected growth.

“The restructure means our engineering department is now well aligned to deliver on new product introduction, and ensures we have the right skills in the right places as we move into the volume-production phase of key contracts.”
