ACTIVE FENLAND: Make the festive period an active one




Join Active Fenland this winter and make the festive period an active one! During these uncertain times, Active Fenland have a variety of different ways to help get active.

Online

Free online content to follow in the comfort of our own homes. On the Active Fenland YouTube channel (search Active Fenland), find more than 40 free sessions of yoga to try. Start with the ‘Preparing for Yoga’ video, which details what to expect, and how to get started.

Plus, there is even a family friendly yoga session too (#38 Jungle Yoga for Kids).

Or for those wanting something a little more energetic, find beginner HIIT and Bootcamp sessions too. Please ensure a full warm up is undertaken before participating in these videos as well as a cool down afterwards.

With any of the online videos, please ensure the workout area and any equipment is safe, hazard free, and the activity is suitable for you.

Virtual Classes

Free, real time, virtual classes via Zoom include the popular Buggy Fit session; taking place on Thursday 10.45-11.45am. Or there is a Legs, Bums and Tums class on Mondays, 6-7pm.

Strength and Balance Booklet

The free Active Fenland Strength and Balance booklet is to help guide older adults to be more active and move more.

With movements to help with balance, strength and flexibility. The booklets are sent via the post to be completed in the home.

Family 6 Week Activity Challenge

A free challenge pack consisting of an activity ideas booklet to enjoy as a family – a pack of basic equipment and a challenge sheet. The challenge sheet forms a six-week challenge where each week certain activities are suggested for families to play together and then record their process. This is based around family activity fun and aims to help build family activity time into the family routine.

Festive Fit & Fed

The free Fit & Fed Takeaways will be available this school holidays in Wisbech. Comprising a healthy takeaway lunch for the family and a festive-themed games pack with activities to play together. Also, this holiday features a new fruit and vegetable box too. Keep your eyes on the @ActiveFenland Facebook page for more details coming soon.

Bringing back face to face sessions

Active Fenland will slowly start introducing face to face sessions with COVID-19 measures in place, following the government guidance. Wisbech Adults Tennis Wednesday 6-7pm and Family Tennis 5-6pm and March Adult Tennis 6-7pm and Juniors 5-6pm, Junior Badminton Wisbech Monday and Wednesday 5-6pm and Junior Running Wisbech Thursday 5.15-6.15pm will all be back on, with more to follow.
