Music afternoon proves a fund raising hit for March, Chatteris and District Macmillan Cancer Support group
An afternoon of music at Cassanos in March raised nearly £440 for the March, Chatteris and District Macmillan Cancer Support group.
Cassanos owner Kevin McCourt provided the venue free of charge and local singer/songwriter Bondy performed.
There was also a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and guests were able to enjoy cakes and savouries provided by the group’s committee members.
Linda Gill, from the committee, said: “It was a very well attended afternoon, despite Saturday’s awful weather, and everybody who came along enjoyed themselves.”
Linda gave a massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported the event, and also gave thanks to the George Campbell Leisure Centre which raised a total of £482.15 with a coffee morning and collection tin. Chatteris Working Men’s Club held a tombola last Thursday and raised £1,000 and a Mr Coulson gave a personal donation of £300.
“A massive thank you to all those who organised and attended these events and helped raise this wonderful amount for the charity,” said Linda.
