New eco-homes being built in March will include offices
All homes at a new eco-friendly development in March will include dedicated home office spaces after the huge rise in flexible working seen during the coronavirus pandemic.
Fink Developments’ new development of 28 detached homes – the company’s biggest to date – are built to the highest environmental standards.
Office manager, Sara Fink said the home offices had been installed in response to public demand for workspaces as more people adopt more flexible working practices in the wake of the pandemic.
The family firm are set to begin works at the Berryfields development of three and four bed homes and the construction will take place in three phases, with the first batch of nine homes due for completion in late summer, 2022.
Three quarters of the homes will have solar panels and all will have energy efficient features including superior glazing and cladding.
Sara said: “These homes are a mix of the traditional and the cutting-edge. We know that people increasingly want to live as sustainably as possible, minimising their impact on the environment while also cutting their energy bills.
“All our homes are designed to be as sympathetic as possible to their surroundings, while also incorporating the latest energy efficient materials.
“After speaking with potential buyers, we’ve also gone back to the architects to redesign the homes to include an extra downstairs room, which can be used as an office, to reflect the changing way that we work since the pandemic.”
All the homes have an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B+ and the project is being supported by a £1.8 million development loan through Lloyds Bank’s Clean Growth Finance Initiative (CGFI).
The Lloyds Bank CGFI provides discounted lending to help businesses invest in reducing their environmental impact.
Neil Browning, relationship director at Lloyds Bank, said: “This is a fantastic example of an innovative eco-friendly business that is delivering high-quality homes while also considering the environmental impact of everything they do.
“The Lloyds Bank Clean Growth Finance Initiative is helping businesses like Fink Developments to seize the opportunities presented by the green economy, helping business prosper while creating a range of environmental benefits and jobs for local people.
“We were happy to support this development and we will continue to help businesses as they move to win new growth opportunities by transitioning to low-carbon, sustainable business models.”
