Patrolling police officers around Wisbech tackle careless parking and street drinking

More than 20 parking tickets were issued during a police action day this week.

Officers in Wisbech took to the streets yesterday after members of the public reported concerns about obstructive parking and street drinking in the town.

Neighbourhood officers used their day shift to walk around the town centre, talking to those they saw out and about and issuing tickets to vehicles parked obstructively - either on junctions or pavements.

In total, 20 tickets were issued and one individual was given a ticket for street drinking inside the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) area, which bans open containers of alcohol from Wisbech town centre in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Police have confirmed that they will continue to combat these issues in town where they can.
