PHOTO GALLERY: Peele Community College Leavers’ Prom, Long Sutton

Hollywood was the theme at the Peele Community College’s Leavers’ Prom in Long Sutton on Friday evening.

As has become custom, students arrived in all sorts of transport.

There were stretch limousines, a classic motorbike convoy , tractors, fire engines, a London bus, a horse-drawn carriage, lorries, bikes, classic cars and even a helicopter.

Students then went down the red carpet into a black and gold-themed marquee.

They then enjoyed a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails, hot dogs and burgers, popcorn, a sweet stall and there was even a Laddies ice cream van.

Continuing the Hollywood theme, ‘Oscars’ were awarded on the night, with each golden envelope containing three names before the winners were read out.

Carla Spenceley won best dressed girl, Will Gillam best dressed boy and the best hair went to Shannon Lorkowski and Jamal Nyang.

Cutest couple were Brandon Wallis and Jasmine Hailes-Pope, prom prince was George Watson and prom princess Ellen Debney.

Jack Gant was picked as prom king, with the queen Katie Griffin.

The whole event was compered again by Stuart Morrow and orgainised by Betty Boor and her admin team and site staff following tireless fundraising throughout the year.

A cardboard cut-out of admin team heart throb Michael Buble did the rounds and there was also a very popular photo booth.

Head of Year 11 Sam King said: “It hardly seems five minutes ago, yet alone five years, that the Year 11s here tonight first joined as new Year 7s and it’s as if, almost overnight, they have transformed into young men and women to be proud of.”
