Praise for success of Walpole St Peter Church fete as it raises over £2,000
Organisers have been blown away by the success of a church fete and market held at the weekend.
It is thought the two-day event held at Walpole St Peter's Church in aid of funds has raised well in excess of £2,000.
The event included over 25 stalls inside the church, plus a marquee café outside serving a huge array of cakes and other refreshments.
There was a barbecue both days with church warden David Galloway and helpers Neil McLane and Michelle Couzens doing the sizzling.
Live music added to t e family fun with Singers Inspired, an acepella group from Downham Market, performing on Saturday and then on Sunday the entertainment was provided by Fenland Flukes.
Gilli Galloway, the church's volunteer events organiser, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the success of the event. We are now looking forward to a Jubilee Picnic on June 5 when families can bring their own picnic and we can hold it in the church if the weather is bad.
"We will be holding another fete and market over two days in September, when we hope to see everyone again."
