Skaters Roller Hockey Club in Walpole Highway receives £250 donation from Wisbech Lions to replace equipment

A sports club has been given a donation for much-needed equipment for its members.

Skaters Roller Hockey Club in Walpole Highway has received a £250 donation from Wisbech Lions.

With 60 members who train regularly at the club, the organisation was seeking funds to replace its gloves and knee pads for the beginners to use when they try out the sport.

Now that the hockey club has received this donation, it is able to replace the equipment.

Julie Fraser, secretary at Skaters Roller Hockey Club, said: “Our under-13 team came third in the league this season, which is a great achievement.

“The club enters many ages into competitive leagues around the eastern counties region.”
