Conservationists says he ‘pulls on his shorts if he sees someone coming’ - greeting them good morning. But he may now be asked to stop amid fears his actions could cause offence.

Footage filmed by an unknown walker shows the silver-hair man pulling on his pants after a ramble at the Site of Scientific Interest in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire.

The walker, who posted the video on YouTube, wrote: “This man is naked every time I go to this area I told police in 2014 but they are useless.” Julia Napier, secretary of a local conservation group, knows the well-known rambler and he has been in touch with her about his desire to naked ramble.

She said: “I know who this man is because we had a lady in her 80s call us some time ago and we put it in our newsletter and I got a call from him and he said he was a naturist.

“He just likes the feel of the sun on his body, including his private parts. He is a very respectable man and a businessman. “If you see him he will pull up his shorts. He is very polite and will give you a ‘good morning’ if he sees you. I will call him. Maybe its time he stopped it now.”

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said the force had no record of the report in 2014 but said any reports would be investigated.

She added: “If we were to receive reports of a naked person in a public space we would look to investigate as a matter of indecent exposure.”

The law on public nudity states: “whilst many naturists will restrict their activities to specially designated areas and/or places where there is a tradition of naked activity, such as nudist beaches, others may wish to enjoy nudity more widely”.
