Water leak causes wetlands centre at Welney to close for the day - visitors are advised to check situation




The Wildlife and Wetlands Trust's centre at Welney has been forced to close for much of today following a water leak.

A spokesman at the centre said the leak has left the centre without a "drop of water", which means no flushing toilets and no hand washing facilities.

She said Anglian Water engineers are on the way to the centre to try to locate and repair the leak.

"We are hoping they will be able to find the leak and have it repaired overnight so we can re-open tomorrow. But we are advising visitors to check before the come via social media on Facebook and Twitter," she said.

The centre is currently running a series of activities for families throughout the summer holidays that are largely self-led and include: A mini-beast hunt, searching for footprints and pond dipping.
