Worzals Farm Shop in Wisbech receives Great Taste Award for ‘warming, homely and delicious’ chicken, ham and leek pie

Worzals Farm Shop in Wisbech has received a Great Taste Award for their Chicken, ham and leek pie in the world’s most coveted food and drinks awards.

Great Taste is judged by 144 of the most discerning palates including food critics, chefs, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers, food writers and journalists and is considered as one of the most highly regarded and trusted awards in the food and drink industry.

In the blind tasting, the judges described Worzals chicken, ham and leek pie as: “A great distribution of meat, with good cuts of chicken and ham. A beautiful pastry encases it and it is comfort food in every way. Warming homely and delicious. The balance of flavours is perfect.”

Owner, Joe Curson said: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised with a Great Taste Award after a really tough year for our industry.

"We make all our pies by hand using our family recipes and they are a firm favourite amongst our customers. This is our first year entering the Great Taste and it is a great honour to receive such a prestigious award and receive the wonderful feedback from the judges. We will be wearing our black and gold Great Taste label with pride!”
