Manea's Stuart Sculthorpe impresses at BriSCA F2 Stock Car meeting in King's Lynn

Manea’s Stuart Sculthorpe earned a fantastic hat-trick of victories in the White & Yellow graded BriSCA F2 Stock Car meeting.

Sculthorpe won both of his heats and, buoyed on with that success, went on to take another convincing win in the final.

Wayne Cottrill was a late entrant in the F2 Stock Cars as he made his debut in the formula, using brother in law Reece Cox’s car.

The former PRI Banger World Champion had to start every race at the very back in each race as he was racing on a temporary licence. Cottrill was unlucky not to feature in the top three in any of the races as he once again showed his speed in rear wheel drive machinery by putting in some great laps, and his efforts deserved more that the 6th, 7th and 10th place finishes he recorded.

Sculthorpe posted the fastest lap of the day with 16.867 seconds, with Cottrill’s speed exemplified by the second fastest time of16.889 seconds.

Brad Bartrum was once again a top performer in the National Bangers as he picked up an entertainer award in both the Micro Bangers and the Big Van Bangers.

He also recorded runner-up finishes in both his heat and final in the Van Bangers and a top ten finish in the Micro Bangers.

James Licquorice had one of his best meetings for a while in the Micro Bangers as he picked up two entertainer awards, and Jack Maryon was also in great form as he finished in second place in the final.

Jack Licquorice and Aston Gibbons also both picked up an entertainer award each, whilst Ryan Bartram and Darryll Scandrett put in strong performances.

Callum Gill was in a typically destructive frame of mind in the Big Van Bangers as he caused chaos, blocking the track which gained him an entertainer award.

His father Russell had problems with his van all night, but managed to finally get it running well in the final - where he delivered some good hits.

John Moat was the best local finisher in the 1300 Stock Car final, coming home in third place in a race which was won by Darren Smith. Tom Alsop had a good night as a first-time red top, placing in the top ten in all of his races.

Racing returns to King’s Lynn this Saturday (5pm) where the 1500 Bangers are in action in their East Anglian Teams.
