North Cambs bowlers compete at the EBF/EWBF national indoor finals in Newark




North Cambs bowlers have been competing at the EBF/EWBF national indoor finals in Newark.

Ladies pair Lynne Quibell and Wendy Featherstone (pictured) were the club's only winners when they beat North Essex 20-10. They then lost 21-8 to eventual champions Derbyshire.

Members also took part in triples, men's and ladies' singles, senior singles and mixed pairs fixtures.

The three triple games on the first day were very exciting and could have gone either way.

In the men's triples, M Jackman, P Butcher and S Glover took on Humberside, entered the last end at 20-20 and dropped a single to lose by one.

For the mixed triples, J Towler, J Gowler and C Waling played Norfolk. They entered last end 17-15 up and dropped three shots to loose 17-18.

Ladies triples team L Quibell, W Featherstone and C Wadlow fought Nottinghamshire, entering the last end 17-15 down and dropping a further two shots to lose 19-15.

In the men's pairs, P Butcher and S Glover played a close game against Suffolk which was decided on the last end and they lost 19-18.

Ladies singles: Angela Jordan v Suffolk lost 0-21

Men's senior singles: C Waling v Lincolnshire, bye, v Derbyshire lost 10-21

Mixed pairs: G Marsh, P Butcher v Durham lost 11-22

Ladies senior singles: B Reeve v Suffolk lost 12-21
