Wisbech St Mary were beaten 5-3 at Newmarket Town Reserves after leading 2-0




Wisbech St Mary remain second bottom of the Cambs County League Premier Division with four games left after losing 5-3 at Newmarket Town Reserves in a game that they always looked like they would get something from.

Goals from Lucas Ablett and Kevin Smith saw Saints lead 2-0 after 22 minutes but The Jockeys fought back to lead 3-2 halfway through the second period.

However, Boston Cash equalised for Saints, only for them to concede twice more in the final two minutes.

In Senior A, March Town United Reserves’ promotion hopes suffered a blow when they were beaten 3-1 at mid-table Haverhill Rovers Reserves, Joshua Bryant netting his seventh of the campaign for The Hares from the penalty spot when already 3-0 down.

After an hour of playing really poorly, March brought Olly Hill, Olly Belton, Ted Payne and Matteo Cavozzi on and dominated the last third of the match, missing numerous chances.

In the same division, Wimblington won 4-1 at a Somersham Town side who had two men red carded in the second half. Sub Jay Rout netted twice for the visitors, with Connor Mazurek and Rory Parker also on target.

Outwell Swifts' title hopes were hit in 1B when they were defeated 2-1 at home to unbeaten Huntington United, Adan-Jay Lewis scoring his 21st of the season. In the same division, March Town A lost 1-0 at Needingworth United and Chatteris Town Reserves triumphed 2-1 at Great Paxton, Elliot Batizovszky and Harry Powley scoring for The Lilies. Benwick Athletic went down 3-1 at The Eagle.

Wisbech St Mary Reserves are through to the final of the William Coad League Cup after a 3-2 spot kicks win over fellow 2B outfit Houghton and Wyton following a 1-1 draw, Pawel Kalvzny scoring in real time. They will meet league leaders Littleport Town in the final. In 2B, Manea United drew 1-1 at Soham Town Rangers Development.

In 3B, Wisbech St Mary Development A are still looking good for a title shot after a 2-1 home win over rivals Mepal and Sutton, Lewis Loates and Callum Taylor with his 18th goal in ten games scoring for Saints.

The 4C title race remains a close affair, with leaders AEK United of Guyhirn winning 5-0 at home to Needingworth United Reserves and second-place Wisbech St Mary B triumphing 4-1 at Wimblington Reserves.

Robert Hitchcock and sub Dan Hempson both scored twice for AEK to make it ten and 27 goals fro them respectively this season, with George Evans also on target, while Michael Chow, Ethan Goodale with his 11th of the season, Ricky Mason and Joe Whybourn with his tenth scoring for Saints.

Third-place March Academy were given the points against a Manea United Reserves team who could not raise a side, while Chatteris Town A drew 2-2 at Huntingdon United Reserves, Jack Leach with both goals for The Lilies.

Wisbech Town Acorns won 4-2 at Mepal and Sutton Reserves with Lewis Forman, Cody Martin, Richard Tarcsai and Jack Williamson scoring. Outwell Swifts Reserves remain bottom after losing 4-0 at Brampton and Buckden Reserves.

In the Peterborough League Premier Division, Leverington Sports drew 1-1 at home with title challengers Stanground Sports, Kieran Hamilton scoring his 15th of the season for Levvy but Adam Conyard seeing red.

Chatteris Town remain just outside the bottom two after losing 3-1 at home to Sawtry, Sam Bond scoring his tenth of the season for The Lilies.

In the bottom three of Division One, Wisbech Town Reserves lost 3-0 at home to Whaplode Drove Rovers and Long Sutton Athletic were thrashed 18-0 at Netherton United.

Sutton Bridge United drew 2-2 at Netherton United Reserves in Division Two, Alex Clements-Limb and Robert Hook on target. Tydd won 6-1 at home to Peterborough Polonia, Kai Scott-Henson scoring three and Matthew Cousins and subs Antony Bonnett and Ricky Holstead netting.

Leverington Sports Reserves triumphed 1-0 at Oakham United Reserves, Alex Albutt scoring in the first half with a cheeky chip.

Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were beaten 2-0 at Stanground Cardea Sports Reserves in Division Three.
