Fenmen go down 5-2 in Evo-stik League




Wisbech Town went down 5-2 to Morpeth Town following a 450-mile Evo-stik Northern round-trip on Saturday.

Wisbech Town held their slick hosts to 1-1 at half-time. Layton Maddison (18 minutes) opened the scoring with a shot from 20 yards for the visiting Fenmen.

The equaliser came on the stroke of half-time with an own goal from Nick Jackson.

After the break Wisbech were caught in possession which led to Tom Potter (50 minutes curling home from the right-edge of the box. Further Morpeth Town strikes came from Iulian Petrache (a header, 64mins), Stephen Forster (tap-in, 68mins) and Liam Henderson (a lob, 84mins). Danny Setchell replied with a rifled 25-yard free-kick.
