Marshland family fun to celebrate St. George’s Day
Families and friends are being invited to get together for a day full of fun at Marshland St James to celebrate St George’s Day.
Marshland Hall and Tearoom is putting on a family fun day on tomorrow (Sunday, April 23) and making sure there will be lots to do.
On the day there will be something for everyone including food vendors, Punch and Judy, circus skills, vintage vehicles, stalls, live music, train rides, mini funfair and farmers’ market.
The action packed day is being sponsored by The Barn Restaurant and will take place from 10am till 4pm.
All of the proceeds will go towards a revamp and the moving of the tea rooms.
At present there is a main hall, a smaller meeting room and space occupied by the tea rooms.
But the tea room has become so popular with the community and with hall users that it needs more space and there are proposals to move it into the meeting room at the hall and transfer the meeting area into the current tea room.
The hall has applied for funding for the project.
In May, the hall will be holding a Right Royal Knees Up to celebrate the coronation of King Charles.
The date is Friday, May 12, the time from 2pm to 4pm and tickets, which must be prebooked, cost £12.
The programme will include musical memories with KJ and The Catt and there will be savoury and cream teas on the menu.
