Major blow for March town centre as prominent shop set to close




A well-loved shoe shop is set to close its doors for the last time later this year.

Clarks, which has been a feature of Broad Street for decades, is due to close in September.

A closing down sign has gone up in the store this week, sparking an outcry on social media over the loss of another shop in the town centre.

A spokesperson for Clarks, which has already closed dozens of branches up and down the country in the past 12 months, confirmed the shop will on September 4.

The Wisbech Clarks, which was located in the Horsefair Shopping Centre, closed its doors some years ago.

It means the nearest Clarks is in Ely, King’s Lynn, or Peterborough.
